Philosophy

My consulting career provided enormous breadth and depth of experience across industries and corporate functions. As a senior executive, I've gained experiences building and managing P&L's, budgets, and management teams while working with investors, directors, and other senior executives.

These experiences have helped shape my management philosophy:

External business strategy, internal operating strategy, and technology are intertwined. Senior executives, especially CIO's and COO's, must have a solid understanding of all three and must consider and balance all three to maximize the overall potential of any organization and stakeholder value.
Execution matters most. A strategy without execution is the same as never having a strategy. Organizations must have both strategy and execution experience to achieve meaningful results.
Successful executives must build great teams and give them the guidance and the freedom to execute. Executives must balance the needs of individuals with the needs of the organization when forming a team and then use a blend of management techniques (e.g., nurture, lead, push, teach, direct, encourage, etc.) that allow the team to function at the highest levels.

Throughout my career, I've pursued these basic philosophies with great success. In my positions as CIO and COO, I've had an opportunity to focus and execute on all aspects of these philosophies.

I have a reputation for listening first and acting second, approaching any crisis with a calm and level-headed demeanor, and partnering with all employees across all levels to achieve business results.
